BRUSSELS, July 8 (KUNA) - A four-member team from Kuwait participating in
an international squash tournament for juniors in the Netherlands are doing
well, the President of the Kuwait Squash Federation Hussein Maqsid who is
leading the team, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) by phone from Amsterdam
today.
He said Aqeel Ashkanani and Yousef Nizar Saleh have won their three games
played till now, while Abdulaziz Ahmad Kanaan and Yousiff Nasser Ali played
two games each and won one game and lost.
The Squash Dutch Junior Open began in Amsterdam on Thursday and will end on
Sunday with the participation of 36 countries including Egypt, UAE and
Pakistan.
"All our players are playing well and they are in good health," Maqdisi
told KUNA, adding that "the organisation of the games is very good."
He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for Kuwait's ambassador to
the Netherloands Hafeez al-Ajmi and to counsellor Eissa al-Shamali and other
members of the Kuwaiti embassy for their support and help given to the team.
Maqdisi noted the Kuwait diplomats and other staff of the embassy came to
see the matches and encourage the Kuwaiti players.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti team will come to Belgium next week to participate
in the Men's World Junior Squash Championship, will take place in the city of
Herentals, from 13th to 17th July. (end)
