Ankara ready to receive Netanyahu if Israel solves flotilla issue - Turkish source

GAZA, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Ankara will be ready to receive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if Tel Aviv finds a solution for the the attack against the freedom flotilla via the international investigation committee, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted a Turkish foreign ministry source as saying Sunday.
The source, who was not named and quoted by the paper's online edition, said the best way to "salvage the Turkish-Israeli relation is by Israel offering an apology for the attack against the Marmara ship and paying compensations for families of the killed and wounded." Determining the value of compensations "is in the hands of the Israelis," he added.
Turkey, noted the source, was not "annoyed by the recent elevation of cooperation between Israel and Greece ... Israel and Greece are friends of Turkey." Relations between Turkey and Israel plunged following the Israeli deadly offensive against Gaza Strip in December 2008 and the attack against the Gaza-bound freedom flotilla in which nine Turkish activists were killed.
Turkey asked Israel to apologize for the attack and compensate families of the victims. (end) mzt.bs KUNA 292230 Aug 10NNNN
