BAGHDAD, June 12 (KUNA) -- Security Operations at the Iraqi capital,
Baghdad, announced the assassin of an Iraqi MP on Friday. MP Hareth Al-Obeidi, head of the Concord Coalition was shot dead today as
he left a mosque in Baghdad's western district of Al-Yarmouk, following Friday
prayers. Ahmed Jassim Ibrahim, 25, is the killer of Al-Obeidi, Security Operations
said in a statement, in contrast to claims by Iraqi police who earlier
mentioned he was only 15. The assailant was found escaping a nearby building after he had carried out
the shooting. After being discovered, he started shooting at local police also
throwing a sound grenade at them, the statement added. Security forces stationed at a checkpoint closeby managed to gun down the
assailant, the statement said furthermore, without adding any further
information regarding the incident. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki has ordered an investigation into the
