UN forces in Bosnia hunting Serbian war criminal

SARAJEVO, May 31 (KUNA) -- Multi-National Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina said here Thursday they stormed some houses in Banja Luka, capital of the entity of Bosnian Serbs, in pursuit of a fugitive Serbian war criminal.
In its manhunt for Stojan Zupljanin, the forces searched several houses and seized computers and documents there, the Multi-National Forces said in a release.
The search included the houses of Zupljanin's relatives and friends upon information that they were aware of the fugitive Serbian war criminal's hideout.
Zupljanin has been wanted by the international court of war crimes in The Hague and Interpol for three years now for having committed crimes against Bosnian civilians in west Bosnian areas in the summer of 1992.
Meanwhile, the Bosnian government Thursday asked the Interpol to arrest another Serbian war criminal Radovan Stankovic, who escaped Foca Prison east of Bosnia last week.
The international court of war crimes had earlier sentenced Stankovic to 20 years in prison, but it put him in a Bosnian jail to serve his term there. (end) ir.mt KUNA 311822 May 07NNNN
