KUWAIT, May 16 (KUNA) -- 1920 -- Tribal leader, named Faisal bin Sultan Al-Dwaish, attacks Kuwaitis residing in the village of Hamdh and killed many of them.
1972 -- An Amiri decree is issued stipulating establishment of the Kuwait Real-Estate Company at a capital of KD three million.
1999 -- Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdel Qader Bajmal re-opens the embassy of his country after closing for nine years as a result of Sanaa's backing of the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait.
2000 -- The World Health Organization (the regional bureau of the Middle East) praises Kuwait for adopting a successful strategy to fight tuberculosis.
2000 -- The National Assembly amends 5th article of nationality law by a 44-vote majority, granting nationality to residents whose residency dates before 1965, instead of 1945.
